Nahuales

It is a series of illustrations inspired by the belief of the Mayan peoples in the Nahuales,

animals or spirits that protect us and connect us with nature from birth.

Each one of these Nahuales is represented by a mask that is used in Mayan dances

in which ancient stories of the ancestral peoples are told.
